Considering the i3 is out and the i8 is about to make its grand entrance, we felt it was apropos to show how much, or in this case how little the cars changed.
Overall, BMW kept the original shape and feel intact.

I really feel like the i3 is going to boost BMW’s profits through the roof since it’s in line with competing with the Volt. It will be interesting to drive one when it arrives.
I’m not sure either the i3 or i8 will help BMW with profits yet. They invested a lot of money to design and built these cars. They are actively seeking cooperation with other carmakers, such as Toyota to boost their bottom line. BMW is well poised toward the future but the next two years are going to be razor thin margins.
