The 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association show is underway in Las Vegas, Nevada and as the first press days fill with unveils and new offerings, they also come with awards announcements for various categories.
Every year, the specialty equipment manufacturers who participate in SEMA nominate and vote on various vehicle brands they enjoy working with for the year’s coolest new products. Often, the same brands are repeat winners, as with this year’s Hottest 4×4-SUV and Hottest Sport Compact categories.
Jeep – Hottest Four Years Running
The Jeep Wrangler was once again named SEMA’s Hottest 4×4-SUV, marking its fourth consecutive year winning the award. With more than 300 officially-recognized performance parts and accessories for the Wrangler, Mopar has announced that even more are coming, putting the Wrangler in the running for the award.. again.
The award was presented to President and CEO of Mopar, Pietro Gorlier at the Show today.
Scion – A Hot Car Gets Hottest Recognition
For the second year in a row, the Hottest Sport Compact category win from SEMA went to the Scion FR-S. Last year, the FR-S made a huge splash at SEMA and this year, the follow up was intense with four ultra-customized Scion FR-S vehicles on display in the Scion booth at SEMA, including one with a race-ready 750 horsepower and themed entries from celebrities.
