Audi A3 named 2014 World Car of the Year

The industry experts on the World Car panel voted the  Audi A3 into the win for the 2014 World Car of the Year award, marking the second time Audi has won the award, taking the award in 2005 with the A6.

This is a great sweet sixteen present for the A3, whose new third-generation platform marks its sixteenth year on the market. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, said: “The Audi A6 was the first ever winner of this award and we are delighted that the Audi A3 has repeated that achievement by being voted 2014 World Car of the Year. The Audi A3 showcases Audi’s technical competence in all aspects of car making, not least in the areas of lightweight technology, drivetrain, mobile infotainment and driver assistance systems. This major award win is an achievement that the whole company can celebrate.”

The international jury panel of World Car choices was comprised of 69 automotive journalists from 22 countries around the globe. World Car of the Year is considered one of the most prestigious titles a globally-sold vehicle can win.

Congratulations to Audi for this year’s title!
