Over in Germany, they know how to live. This video, recorded earlier this month, shows a heavily-tuned Nissan GT-R taking on an equally over-clocked Bugatti Veyron on a runway at the Weeze Airport in northern Germany.
The camera shows the two car staging and then taking off, with the GT-R taking a fast early lead. A second camera view shows the race from the right-side window of the GT-R and pauses at the finish line to show the result from that view.
Amazing.
You can find more details on the race at this link.

Notice the commenter saying: “They’re all scared to take on the GT-R.. Ah, at last” talking about the Bugatti.
Notice also how much quicker the GT-R was a start off? Interesting.
Could it be a hybrid Nissan GT-R? 🙂
Well, since you mentioned it, Nissan is working on a secret hybrid GT-R but the word is hush.
Ya, the rumor on that GT-R hybrid has been around for a couple of years now. Honestly, though, I’d look towards the Infiniti brand for it instead. It’s an obvious tie-in with F1 and the Eau Rouge is now operational as an engineering and design platform test.
Guess who got to drive the brand new 2014 Cadillac Escalade?
The GT-R has better low-end torque and is AWD. It actually takes off faster than most other supercars if you’re into watching these videos. 🙂
