Come and Meet CarNewsCafe at the Formula E e-Prix in Long Beach and RUSHX

FIA Formula E ePrix Nicolas Rimac Concept One

FIA Formula E First Race in Long Beach, CA.

The first day of the FIA Formula E series started yesterday and we had a great time getting to know everyone there. We secured a few interviews with team owners, CEOs and drivers. It was an interesting day as everyone felt the importance of this first race and the pioneering feeling behind it. Check back again next week as we will compile our notes, pictures and videos.

FIA Formula E Brings the Rimac Concept One

FIA Formula E ePrix Alain Nicolas ProstAs an electric vehicle (EV) writer, there are EVs and then, there are EVs. Two almost mystical cars I’ve been following since day one are the Lightning GT and the Rimac. Chance was that Rimac brought their amazing Concept One, a 1,088 HP electric Supercar that boasts a 325 Km/h top speed and a 0 to 60 MPH in 2.8 seconds. Some cars look even better up close and the Concept One didn’t fail to to glue us to it for hours. The supercar truly is a super car and we got up close, meeting its owner and the Rimac team. Can you say object of deep desire?

Nancy Cartwright, enthusiastic Tesla owner, voice of Bart on The Simpsons, and 11-year honorary mayor of the North San Fernando Valley, will emcee the event. Joining Ms. Cartwright will be Rich Rutherford, enthusiastic Tesla owner, renowned stunt car driver and drifter, and veteran of the Long Beach Grand Prix who will enlighten attendees with tips to gain more from their Tesla driving experience. Frank van Gilluwe, author of the Tesla Owners Manual entitled Tesla Model S – Best Car Ever! and the founder of Tesla Tap, will discuss the pros and cons of various Tesla modifications.

“First and foremost, we are Tesla fans. The overriding goal of the event is to celebrate this exceptional car. It also provides Tesla owners with a forum to meet and share the latest ‘how-to’ information they crave and enjoy,” said event producer and volunteer organizer, Renee Swenson. “The heart of the Tesla community is the user and enthusiast. They are passionate about Tesla; they can’t get enough information about the company or the car,” said Swenson, a Tesla owner since 2006 and professional event planner for Fortune 500 companies.

Together with Formula E, it’s the ultimate user experience.”
