First Ford Focus Electric Ad Launched

**Embargoed until 2:01 p.m. EST on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011** Ford Focus Electric: The all-new Ford Focus Electric is a zero-CO2-emissions, gasoline-free version of Ford's popular small car and is the flagship of the company's growing fleet of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles coming to North America and Europe by 2013. Ford has launched its first TV spot meant specifically to promote the Focus Electric car. The 16-second ad is built on a dynamic entry and quick green car plug-in emphasis, showcasing the sporty nature of the Focus Electric as its primary selling point for a younger audience.

Green proponents and those who know nothing about automotive marketing, of course, hate the ad and are calling it a garbage commercial that “proves” that Ford is not interested in actually selling battery electric vehicles.
