2015 Dodge Viper Gets $15,000 Price Cut

Back in 1992, the first-generation Dodge Viper sold for about $50,000. Fast-forward to 2014 and the price of a Viper had doubled to nearly $100k. Granted, a lot has been done to the Dodge Viper in those two intervening decades, but at the same time, sales have continually dropped as prices rose.

Seeing the problem, Chrysler has decided to re-vamp the price structure for the Dodge Viper in hopes of boosting sales. With competitors like the Corvette and GT-R doing well and with the upcoming Challenger Hellcat providing new competition in-house, the Viper needed to change. So 2014 model year Dodge Vipers still on the sales lot and the upcoming 2015 Viper will have a starting price of $84,995 – a $15,000 cut from previous base level pricing.

The cuts extend across the board, for all trim levels of the car, including the SRT, GT, TA, and GTS:

* SRT: $84,995

*GT: $94,995

*TA: $100,995

*GTS: $107,995

This fifth-generation of the Dodge Viper is the hottest one yet in terms of muscle, technology, and power. Customers who’ve already purchased one at the old price don’t need to feel slighted either. Dodge is offering a unique trade-in strategy.

If you own a current fifth-generation Viper, you can get a $15,000 voucher towards purchase of a 2015 model that stacks on top of the $15k reduction already made, giving you $30,000 off the car. That should make up for any depreciation lost when you do a trade-in, sell your current Viper, or keep it and add another to the garage.

Production of 2015 model year Vipers will begin at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit in the second half of the fourth quarter of 2014. Vipers will start arriving in dealerships in the first quarter of 2015.
