Nissan Shows Off All-New 2026 Sentra

The Sentra will hit dealerships late 2025, as a 2026 model.

The 2026 Sentra gets a full redesign, inside and out. It aligns more with Nissan’s modern look (think Murano, Leaf) with cleaner, sleeker lines and improved aerodynamics. Exterior trims include sharper LED lighting, a more integrated grille/headlight setup, and new character lines. The SL trim level returns as well. Wheels range between 16-18 inches depending on trim.

There’s also a big upgrade in screens: standard 12.3-inch center touchscreen; higher trims offer a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Plus more connectivity: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on SV, SR, and SL trims; base models still have wired versions. Nissan is also retaining the hysical/haptic controls for key features like climate, stereo, etc., so it’s not all touch.

The engine carries over: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with ~149 horsepower, paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission). But there are mechanical improvements: a stiffer body structure (~6% stiffer), refined dampers, updated steering damper, smaller body openings to reduce noise, and a retuned CVT for smoother feel. There’s also a Sport mode on higher trims (SV, SR, SL) to sharpen response.

Nissan is adding more advanced driver-assist features. Among them: adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Also Nissan’s ProPilot driver assistance (on all but base models) and availability of a 360-degree camera system.

Pricing, Availability & What to Expect

The Sentra will hit dealerships late 2025, as a 2026 model. Pricing hasn’t been firmly announced. Current estimates suggest it’ll remain in the “affordable compact sedan” range. The improvements suggest better refinement and feature value, rather than a jump in raw power or fuel-efficiency.
