New 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Revealed, Priced

More range, more tech, updated styling, and a lower price tag.

Mitsubishi has announced pricing for the refreshed 2026 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, with the electrified SUV starting at $43,245 plus destination ($1,745, $1,870 in Hawaii/Alaska). The update brings a mid-cycle refresh that focuses on improved comfort, updated styling, and enhanced electrified performance.

Visually, the 2026 model adopts the same exterior refresh introduced on the gasoline Outlander. That includes a revised grille and front bumper, smoked rear taillights, and newly designed 20-inch wheels that give the three-row SUV a slightly sharper look.

Inside, Mitsubishi focused heavily on refinement. The cabin receives new materials and colors, improved sound insulation, and a redesigned center console with larger storage space, revised cupholders, and an updated wireless charging area. Heated and ventilated front seats are also available, while an available 12.3-inch infotainment display modernizes the dashboard layout.

One standout addition is a Yamaha-developed premium audio system, a rare feature in the segment that Mitsubishi says delivers a more immersive listening experience.

Under the skin, the plug-in hybrid system receives a larger-capacity battery, which is expected to increase the SUV’s all-electric driving range and reduce how often the gasoline engine needs to engage. Engineers also retuned the suspension, steering, and chassis components—including springs, dampers, and stabilizer bars—to improve ride comfort and on-road confidence.

Like previous models, the Outlander PHEV retains standard Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) and three rows of seating, keeping it one of the few plug-in hybrid SUVs in the U.S. that can accommodate up to seven passengers.

With its combination of EV capability, family-friendly packaging, and Mitsubishi’s long warranty coverage, the refreshed 2026 Outlander PHEV continues to position itself as a value-focused electrified SUV in a segment that’s still relatively thin on three-row options.
