Inside Honda’s IndyCar teams

Honda has opened an insider view of Indycar teams with the Inside the Indy Challenge.

The new social media initiative highlights Honda-powered IndyCar teams Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports.  The campaign takes fans inside the efforts of the teams as they race towards the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500.

The conversation is taking place on Facebook and Twitter via the #HondaRacing tag and can be followed directly on insidetheindychallenge.com.  An original documentary-style series of video vignettes featuring drivers Simon Pagenaud and Tristan Vautier along with their crews and cars in an embedded-reporting style.  The documentaries will cover three IndyCar races including the Long Beach Grand Prix, the Sao Paulo Indy 300 and the end game, the Indy 500.

The videos publish shortly after each race and can be shared immediately.  You can find Honda’s race team videos on Facebook, Twitter, Ustream, and YouTube as well as find photos at Tumblr.

“We knew that we were in a position to offer an interesting, first-hand perspective on the IndyCar Series and share what racing means to Honda.” said Mike Accavitti, Senior Vice President of Automotive Operations for American Honda, Inc. “Through the ‘Inside the Indy Challenge’, we are able to join the Honda racing conversation and interact with fans in a meaningful way through an engaging social media experience.”
