Playboy Magazine has named the new Jaguar F-Type as its Car of the Year for 2014. The editors of Playboy looked at hundreds of new cars and settled on the F-Type:

“This is the Jaguar we’ve been waiting for – a beautiful car, a brilliantly-performing machine, nuanced and yet very true to Jaguar’s DNA,” said A.J. Baime, Playboy’s editor at large. “In our many miles of testing on road and track, we had difficulty finding flaws. That’s why it’s our 2014 Car of the Year.”

The new F-Type is one of the only recent Jaguar designs to be truly, well, Jaguar. The CarNewsCafe team all agree on that point. The F-Type is available as both a convertible and coupe and is powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 outputting 340 or 360 horsepower, depending on variant. A 495hp V8 is also available.

The Jaguar F-Type Coupe, S Coupe, and R Coupe have an MSRP starting at $65,000 and $69,000 for the Convertible (not including destination).
