In a very intelligent and fun commercial, Smart Canada created a video with a Smart ForTwo electric at the drag strip against cars like those mentioned. It loses. Every time. By a very long margin.
Then they show you the first five meters (15 feet). That’s the part that matters when you’re driving in an urban environment. Guess what? They’re all exactly the same. Smart, Mustang, Audi, Porsche.. They all accelerate about the same in the first fifteen feet.
