Next-generation Honda Civic Showcased in New York

Honda unveiled the Civic Concept at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, showing off their plans for the 10th-generation compact best-seller. Emphasizing “sporty” in their design and materials, Honda says that the new Civic will feature the new VTEC Turbo engines from the company’s Earth Dreams Technology series.

“The new Civic will be, flat out, the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the most refined and stylish Civic we’ve ever made,” said John Mendel, executive vice president, Automobile Division, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.  “In every way, this will be an epic Civic.”

The car showcased in New York features a new 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo and six-speed manual transmission and an option for a newly-tuned continuously variable transmission (CVT).
