At the 2025 New York International Auto Show, Genesis introduced the X Gran Equator Concept, its first-ever adventure vehicle concept—a striking blend of luxury and off-road capability designed for those who seek serene escapes and rugged exploration.
Key Highlights:
- Design Philosophy:
A reimagining of Genesis’ “Athletic Elegance”, the X Gran Equator harmonizes clean, minimalist design with overlanding readiness. A long hood, fast C-pillar, and sleek body profile contrast with rugged cladding, 24-inch beadlock wheels, and auxiliary lamps. - Interior Experience:
The cabin blends analog charm with digital precision, featuring a vintage-inspired four-circle display, geometric dashboard lines, and swiveling front seats. Modular storage and thoughtful detailing emphasize both practicality and elegance. - Name Inspiration:
“Gran Equator” pays tribute to the Arabian stallion ‘Equator’, symbolizing endurance, agility, and grace—core traits Genesis aims to reflect in the vehicle’s persona. - Utility Meets Style:
Notable functional elements include split-opening tailgate, integrated roof rails, and minimalist surfacing that suggests high design with genuine utility. - Lifestyle Vision:
While not yet confirmed for production, the concept previews Genesis’ ambitions in the adventure/lifestyle vehicle segment—signaling a move toward luxury overlanding without sacrificing core brand aesthetics.
The X Gran Equator Concept will be on display at the Genesis booth at the Javits Center starting April 18, and later at Genesis House in NYC through the end of July.
