‘NISMO Electric Racer Tokyo’ delivers an exhilarating retro gaming experience for fans

Nissan Formula E Team has launched its first-ever video game, NISMO Electric Racer Tokyo, to celebrate the upcoming Tokyo E-Prix on May 17–18. The retro-style arcade game, created with Japanese illustrator Kentaro Yoshida, pays tribute to Tokyo’s electric nightlife and classic 90s gaming culture.

Players race a stylized Nissan Formula E car through a pixelated Tokyo landscape featuring Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms, reaching simulated speeds of 322 kph.

Available on PC and mobile at www.NismoElectricRacer.com, the game debuts alongside a nostalgic video game-style commercial. Nissan drivers Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato will post scores for fans to compete against on a global leaderboard.

Yoshida also designed a special edition race car livery for the Tokyo E-Prix, which will be revealed on May 14 at Nissan’s Yokohama HQ. Team principal Tommaso Volpe highlighted the game as a celebration of Nissan’s heritage and Japan’s iconic gaming legacy.
