The 2025 Ram 2500 Rebel is what happens when a truck designer looks at a Power Wagon and says, “Cool, but what if it could tow a house while still climbing a mountain?” It’s Ram’s attempt to blend brawn, boulder-crunching capability, and just enough off-road flair to make you think you’re about to get your own reality show.
This Rebel isn’t here to sip soy lattes or sneak quietly through the suburbs. It’s a three-ton fistfight with physics. Powered by either a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 or a 6.7-liter Cummins straight-six turbodiesel, the truck produces torque figures that require math notation normally reserved for rocket launches. The diesel, for example, puts out enough twist to tow your horse trailer, your neighbor’s horse trailer, and the neighbor himself. Over a thousand pound feet.
Ram dressed the Rebel in all the expected outdoorsy garb: skid plates, beefy off-road suspension, chunky all-terrain tires, and just enough blacked-out trim to make the HOA call an emergency meeting. Inside, it’s less chainsaw shack and more leather-lined man cave. You get tech like a massive 14.5-inch infotainment screen, trail cameras, and enough connectivity to live-stream your slow crawl over a rock nobody but you cares about. Plus places to put phones, drinks, and a whole lotta other stuff.
Driving the Rebel is exactly what you’d expect: it’s a big, unapologetic beast that feels unstoppable in a straight line and hilariously nautical when cornering. Park it next to a compact crossover and you’ll realize it’s not so much a truck as it is a land barge. It’s huge. But that’s kind of the point. It’s huge because it’s extremely capable.
Surprisingly, the ride is smooth and easy and the drive quality is almost car-like. There’s no denying the massiveness of this truck, but it’s easy to maneuver regardless. And for long distances while towing, there are few I can name that are better.
At the end of the day, the 2025 Ram 2500 Rebel is not practical for most of us. It’s for people who say things like, “I need a truck that can tow my cabin while I build another cabin,” and actually mean it. If you want to cosplay as a rancher or really need to be hauling your camper, boat, and probably your in-laws’ RV, the 2500 Rebel is your huckleberry.
