Chevrolet Revives Grand Sport with New 6.7L V8 and Track-Focused Performance

At the heart of the revival is an all-new 6.7-liter LS6 V8.

Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport makes a highly anticipated return, slotting back into the Corvette lineup as a purist-focused performance model that blends everyday drivability with serious track capability.

At the heart of the revival is an all-new 6.7-liter LS6 V8, delivering 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. This naturally aspirated engine emphasizes responsiveness and linear power delivery, aided by a higher 13.0:1 compression ratio, larger throttle body, and advanced intake design. The result is a more powerful and torque-rich evolution of Corvette’s small-block heritage, paired with a visceral exhaust note and available quad center-exit system.

True to its roots, the Grand Sport sticks with rear-wheel drive, positioning itself as the enthusiast’s choice in the lineup. It’s engineered to balance comfort and performance, with standard Magnetic Ride Control, a touring suspension setup, and all-season performance tires that make it equally capable on long drives or twisty back roads.

The formula follows a familiar and proven approach: combine the powertrain accessibility of the base Corvette with the wider body, chassis upgrades, and aerodynamic enhancements inspired by higher-performance variants. This creates a versatile package that delivers both precision handling and daily usability.

Chevrolet has also introduced updated braking systems designed to reduce dust and maintain a cleaner appearance over time, reinforcing the Grand Sport’s dual role as both a performance machine and a livable sports car.

Rooted in Corvette history dating back to the original 1963 lightweight racers, the Grand Sport nameplate has always represented a bridge between road and track. With this latest iteration, Chevrolet leans into that legacy—pairing classic naturally aspirated V8 character with modern engineering to create a balanced, driver-focused sports car for a new era.

With production expected to begin in 2026, the return of the Grand Sport signals Chevrolet’s continued commitment to delivering accessible, high-performance thrills in the evolving Corvette lineup.
