Porsche goes green with human-powered car

The newest item in the Porsche Driver’s Selection of offerings is a human-powered Go-Kart.  Yep, Porsche is going green by promoting a new, pedal-driven machine.  What’s more, they’re promoting this to the only crowd that will understand: children aged five and up.

The Go-Kart is a combination of green propaganda and Porsche marketing to the next generation of car buyers. It is about five feet long and is being sold in the “Porsche Lifestyle Collection” for up-and-coming luxury car buyers in the next generation.

It comes complete with all of the trimmings one would expect from a Porsche-made eco-friendly machine: composite wheel rims, low-profile tires, a sport seat, a backpedal braking system, and a handbrake. All on a tubular steel frame capable of holding kids up to 110 pounds (or two kids weighing about 50 pounds each plus their mom-happy safety equipment).

All kidding aside, though, this is one cool Go-Kart. What kid wouldn’t love one?
