McLaren is happy to begun delivers of the McLaren 12C Spider convertible in North America.   Like any smart and social media savy automaker nowadays they have released short online video on Youtube to celebrate.

The online video features the driving wonder from New Zealand, Rhys Millen, who’s long list of accomplishments are quite impressive.  Rhys Millen currently holds the overall record for the world famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, is a 2005 Formula Drift champion and 2008 Drifting World Champion.  As well Millen has been in over 500 commercials spanning 20 years.  His resume also includes several movies which includes  the Fast and the Furious franchise and Indiana Jones.

His co-star in the video is snowboarder, Chanelle Sladics.  Sladics is an 8 time competitor in the winter X-Games and has hosted snowboarding competitions on ESPN.

Chanelle Sladics takes on the Rhys Millen and the formidable McLaren 12C Spider to task as she takes the direct route downthe notoriously treacherous Loveland Pass in Colorado.  At 11,990 feet (3,655 m) above sea level, the Loveland Pass is the highest mountain pass in the world that stays open during the winter months.

“With a familiar back ground in Hill Climb competitions and a native New Zealander myself, on the eve of this 50 year celebration for McLaren it was an honor to have driven the 12C Spider up the twisty snowy mountain roads.” commented Rhys Millen about the video.
