Jay Leno’s Garage does McLaren Day at Circuit of The Americas

Dos Equis guy? Ya, you got nothing on the Leno, man. Once again, Jay Leno proves that he has the greatest life in the world. This time, by visiting McLaren at the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, Texas – the newest Formula One track on the circuit, based right here in the U.S.A.

This video is over 27 minutes long, but it’s well worth the time. Jay takes us on a tour of what happens in the McLaren Garage during pre-race prep and practice run testing as they check fluids, change a tire, and more. Then he tours the track itself with its designer, showing not only how the track is laid out, but what went into the decisions behind the track’s design.

Finally, he does what no one else has ever done before: he challenges a McLaren F1 car to a race.. in his own McLaren 12C. Of course, a professional driver is behind the wheel of both cars, but Leno is in the passenger’s seat of the 12C and then takes a run around the track himself.

A really cool episode and a great introduction to America’s own Formula One track, inaugurated just last year.
