Cliche About Tesla Model S Owners Being Rich A-holes Pans Out

You know the cliche among automotive enthusiasts and writers that says that most Tesla Model S buyers are rich and the ones who continually leave comments online are all a-holes? Well, at least part of that has panned out thanks to a Tesla Motors Club poll of actual Tesla owners.

The poll was taken online in the TMC and included 755 responses. Of those, more than a third of the respondents have an annual income higher than what President Obama would call “rich” ($250,000). More than half of all Tesla owners have an income above $140,000, in fact, and a mere 28 respondents make less than $60,000. For reference, 110 respondents to the poll are “swimmin’ in cash.”

For your convenience, we’ve made a screen capture of the poll’s results.
