LaFerrari Recalled for.. Headrests?

The Ferrari LaFerrari supercar is the subject of a safety recall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over non-compliant headrests. The hand made Ferrari has headrests that fail to meet government standards, the NHTSA says in a recall notice, and they must be replaced.

Ferrari of North America will recall and replace headrests in 85 LaFerrari cars from the 2014-2015 model years. Another recall for software updates to the tire sensors are a separate issue and part of a voluntary recall the company is issuing to resolve a mis-stated communication in tire pressure errors.

The seats in the LaFerrari do not meet federal guidelines for energy absorption, increasing risk of whiplash and neck injuries in an accident. No injuries or deaths have been associated with this fault. The NHTSA instituted the recall in May and Ferrari is beginning active recalls now.
