Hyundai Reveals Design Details for IONIQ Concept

The IONIQ was announced earlier this month as the first production vehicle to offer a full range of electrified powertrain options. Launching early in 2016, the car will officially unveil at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Teasing that unveil, Hyundai has now released an exterior and interior rendering of the car.

Hyundai Motor has confirmed that the IONIQ will be the world’s first car to offer a choice of three efficient and ultra-low-emission powertrains: full electric, plug-in gasoline / electric hybrid, or gasoline / electric hybrid. We can see from the exterior rendering that the design plans are to maximize airflow efficiency for good aerodynamics. Inside, the car is likely to have a premium feel akin to that found in the Genesis or other higher-end Hyundai vehicles.
